Spring days in early February

We were treated to another day of spring-like weather Monday, and our Monday night group run, aka Bobby's Bunch, was most pleasant.Deon still has that runner's buzz after running his first Ultra-marathon on Saturday in Madill, OK at the Dan Man. Deon ran a steady 12 minute pace for 20 miles, and then kicked up the pace leaving poor old T Z in the dust. Deon finished his 31.1 miles in about 6:40, and ended up with over 33 miles for the day.

Jenni ran with us, and it was nice to see her again. She, Susan, and Dana solved all the issues of the day in the few minutes before the run.

Three Dan Man finishers: Bobby ran the marathon distance, qualifying for Marathon maniac status. Dana ran 11K, and Michael did his first ever half marathon. WTG!

Jenni tries to explain to Jennifer what her "step ladder" joke means.

Finally, around 5:40 we took off. It is so nice that the days are getting longer.

Dana rounds the corner at 11th Street and the westside trail.

Michael, Sandra, Dana, and I ran the whole 4.4 miles around Zink Lake. Most of the group crossed the 21st street bridge for around 3 miles. Michael and Sandra against a setting sun.

I haven't heard any reports about the Saturday group run. If anyone wants to write a story or send me some pics, I'll post 'em.

Be sure to congratulate Chrissy and Jason for their speedy 1:55 half marathon. This was on trails, gravel and dirt roads, and a lot of loose sand. It was by no means pancake flat. Lisa, Michael, and Brian also finished the half marathon. Dana PR'd in the 10K, although she actually ran 11K.

See you all tomorrow!

Awesome job Deon and Bobby! Very proud of you. Not to rain on anyone's parade but no one in our group that did the half did the out and back so they only ended up with ~12.77 miles so the times look better. That means I was ultra slow!! :( My arches still hurt so I may not run with the group this week. We will see after my appt with the amazing Dr. Z today.
